"To coincide with
Daniel Johnston’s European 2003 summer tour,
Sketchbook released a limited edition 7” single of
‘Fish’ - perhaps the highlight of the Mark
Linkous / Sparklehorse collaborative
album, ‘Fear Yourself’. The European tour saw
Johnston play, for the first time, such prestigious festivals as
Benicassim, Roskilde and
Goa Boa. Johnston also made a rare UK live appearance as
part of the ICA’s week-long festival of
international comic art and literature. The festival also exhibited
pieces of Johnston’s highly prized and celebrated artwork; alongside
other idiosyncratic leaders of comic art such as Chris Ware,
Ed Pinsent, Marc Baines and
Charles Burns." |
